Formed in 2001, KDM Transport Ltd. began with a single One Ton Truck, affectionally referred to as "Old Blue" and a single office located in basement of the owner’s house in Airdrie, Alberta. Shortly after Old Blue came the first KDM trailer, a Gooseneck which would be used for hauling just about anything. In 2007, KDM took the next step in its journey when it acquired the first of a fleet of Heavy Duty Trucks, a 2001 Kenworth W900, and the first Flat Deck trailer, a 2000 48' Doepker Step Deck.
At the same time, came the move into commercial offices in downtown Airdrie. In 2009, the company continued growing and came the need for office and yard space, resulting in a move to Crossfield, where the company operates from today. This location provides ideal access to Calgary, Highway 2, and to the main transport corridors of Alberta and the rest of the country.
Along with the strategic purchase of equipment, KDM has grown through key business acquisitions, first in 2006 with the acquisition of Neal's Wheels, and then in 2014 when Spool Transport combined with KDM. This marked the entrance of KDM into the Freight Management business, and an immediate growth of the KDM network, and its ability to better respond to customer needs.
Today, KDM is a fleet of trucks, trailers, and a team of drivers and staff from all parts of Southern Alberta. The key contributor to the success of KDM is strong focus on Customer Service, Safety, and Results.
